Summer King Salmon Fishing on the Columbia river
Summer King Salmon Fishing:
Fishing for king salmon on the upper Columbia River is equally as good as fishing on the lower Columbia River. The sun is always shining with little to no rain during this time frame. Fishing for kings is the ultimate experience where fish can reach upwards to 40 pounds! We fish in our hometown of Wenatchee, as well as Rocky Reach Dam, Wanapum Dam, Wells Dam, and the Brewster Pool.
These areas of the upper Columbia are known for stacked fish, prior to their spawn. Only hatchery fish can be dispatched and brought into the boat. All wild fish must be caught and released. Although they have travelled hundreds of miles up river, these fish still have a lot of fight in them!
They can be fished in a variety of ways, all of which I know; they cut with amazing color and have a wonderful flavor no matter how they are cooked. If you have never fished the Upper Columbia for summer kings, book a trip and ask all sorts of questions. I will answer all your questions and get you hooked on fishing the Upper Columbia!
